The Pointe of No Return

A dysfunctional Xennial couple unwittingly entangles themselves in a swingers group comprised of fellow small-town dance team parents, with deadly ramifications. 

Grief-stricken from her best friend’s death and seeking an escape from her own life, Samantha quits her NICU nursing position and urges Tony, her philandering philosopher husband, to take a visiting professorship in an idyllic north Florida seaside community. She’s desperate to start anew and acclimate her three children at Emerald Pointe Catholic School and learns there’s only one ticket in town for her dance-obsessed daughters: Tiffani’s Twinkle Toes. By the name alone, Samantha discerns Tiffani trains girls to peak in high school, but at least there’s eye candy working at the front desk. The only problem? Samantha’s dream man is married to Tiffani. 

Tony has noticed changes in Samantha since she succumbed to the tyrannical regime at Tiffani’s. His once down-to-earth wife is now preoccupied with designer purses, and although she’s anxious about traveling to their daughters’ dance competitions, Samantha encourages him to stay home with their son. It’s not until a parents-only party that Tony connects the dots: the Twinkle Toes parents are swingers, and Tiffani’s husband is hot for Samantha. Once Tiffani’s body washes ashore, the police have questions, and Tony fears the answers lie in bed beside him.  

The Pointe of No Return is a biting social satire that blends the murderous middle-aged Mean Girls vibes of The Hunting Wives and salacious secrets lurking beneath picture-perfect lives from Bad Summer People with the cutthroat atmosphere seen on the reality show Dance Moms.
